I just gotta love someone who plays a Stratocaster fingerstyle.
It's one of the things that makes him sound so unique.

That's a set of Uilleann pipes just right of center.
I have no idea what that 8-string thing is on the right.
This all sounded as far from Dire Straits as it looks. It was pretty ambitious, musically.

I believe that's the Dobro from the cover of Brothers In Arms, but I could be mistaken.
